We spoke to three people who used the service. They told us they were satisfied with the care and treatment provided by the dentist. One person said, 'I have been coming here for over 20 years. I trust ' explicitly. He explains everything in detail. I would not go anywhere else.' Another person told us they had been a patient for over 10 years. They said, 'I am well looked after. The dentist provides me with options. At the end of the day it is my decision to choose what suits me best.' We found that people's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. One person said, 'The dentist always asks me about changes to my medical condition.'
We found there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. People said, 'The practice was very clean and tidy'. People said they were aware of how to make a complaint. However, they have never had the need to make one. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately. We found that the service's recruitment procedure was not rigorous. Staff were employed without the appropriate checks undertaken.
