During a routine inspection
We looked at training records and saw that staff carried out regular training to maintain their registration with their professional bodies, however we did recommend that staff receive regular safeguarding training to ensure they are fully aware of their responsibility in this area.
People told us they thought the practice was clean and that staff were helpful. We saw that good practice was followed in minimising the risk of cross infection. We also observed staff using the necessary personal protective equipment to reduce contamination.
We checked what medication the service used and found that it administered these responsibly and records were kept to show who received medication. The service also had medication to be used in the event of an emergency. We suggested that the provider may wish to improve the security for these when they are not needed.
People told us they felt able to approach any of the staff at the practice if they had a concern as they found all the staff approachable. We were told. "I would speak to any of the staff if I had a problem, but I know if I approached the dentist they would help me straight away."
