We found that the provider had carried out the relevant safeguarding checks for all staff to ensure the safety of patients who used the service. However we found that other recruitment information was not available such as application forms and references to confirm that someone was of good character.

We recently asked the provider to send information to us to show that the required improvements had been made. We checked this evidence and saw that an effective recruitment and selection process had been put in place at the practice to ensure patients were kept safe from harm.

We saw that staff treated people who used the service with dignity and respect and listened to any concerns they raised about their care and treatment.

We saw that the service was sufficiently staffed on the day of the inspection. People who used the service told us that there was always enough staff available and they were able to book emergency appointments immediately.

The provider did not have an effective recruitment procedure in place to ensure that staff were suitable to be employed by the service.

Staff we spoke with told us that they felt supported by their manager with training and had opportunities to update their professional development.

The provider had systems in place to undertake audits to ensure that people who used the service received the correct standard of care and acted on feedback received from people who used the service.
