During a routine inspection
The practice was busy on the morning session and we observed people were going in to be seen by the dentist promptly.
People's privacy was observed and respected. The practice offered people areas outside the surgery where they could discuss their treatment or methods of payment. Staff used an instant messaging service which minimised the need to enter the dentists surgery while consultations were in progress.
People completed a medical history and this was checked by the dentist in surgery. People were given advice on different types of treatment and we were shown models on how to look after teeth. One person we spoke to told us they had been coming to the practice as a child and that their family also come to the same practice. They said that 'Mr Deo is good like that, he will explain everything, what he's done, what he's going to do."
The practice had a dedicated decontamination room. This enabled the practice to perform the process of decontamination in an area separate from the dentists surgery.
The practice had effective systems for monitoring the quality of the service.
