During a routine inspection
People we spoke with were positive about how needs had been assessed, treatment planned and care delivered. One person said, 'You never exactly look forward to a visit to any dentist but I always feel at ease here.'
The provider had a child protection and vulnerable adult protection policy which was reviewed annually. Staff we spoke with demonstrated an understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. They had received safeguarding training and were able to describe possible symptoms of abuse such as personality changes, physical marks and/or dental neglect.
We saw that the reception area, treatment rooms and decontamination room were clean and clutter free. People we spoke with were positive about the cleanliness of the practice. One person referred to levels of cleanliness in the practice as, 'spot on.'
We saw that patient records contained personalised information such as a penicillin or latex allergy. This meant that the provider had accurate records to help identify and manage risks in relation to providing dental care.
