This inspection was undertaken to look at the progress Ivy House Dental Practice had made since we visited on 25 October 2012 and found that it was not meeting four standards. This time we found it was compliant with three standards, but was still not meeting one standard. We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of people using this service. When we visited last time we spoke with two patients. Neither raised any concerns with us regarding their care. This time we looked at patient feedback forms and the surgery comments book.
The provider had now taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
The provider had undertaken checks on staff and had a system in place to ensure that all staff recruited in the future had appropriate checks undertaken on them prior to starting work.
The provider had taken steps to ensure that the training needs of staff were identified and that they were supported to receive appropriate professional development.
We found that the provider did not yet have a working system in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
