People using the service told us, 'The service is very good,' 'The dentist is friendly,' and 'I get on with my dentist.'People were informed and involved in decisions about their treatment. They felt the dentist explained to them why they needed treatment and what treatment options were available.
The care records we saw included completed treatment plans. Medical histories were undertaken to identify any long term illnesses a patient had and whether they were on any medication, in case this affected the treatment options available to them.
The service was visually clean. However, we found that the provider did not always follow best practice guidance for the decontamination of dental instruments.
We were not provided with evidence that all staff had attended the required training courses, and there were no records that staff had received supervision or appraisal.
There was a complaints process in place and we saw that complaints had been responded to appropriately.
