9 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with eight people who were patients of Mr Maguire. All spoke highly of the service they received. People told us that Mr Maguire always kept to his appointment times and did not keep patients waiting. One person told us, 'I am one hundred percent happy, I've been a patient here for fifteen years.'

We found that medical histories we not up to date for all patients. This means that the dentist may not have up to date information about the persons current medical conditions, medication and allergies.

We saw that although all areas of the practice looked clean and tidy there was no written schedule to describe which areas should be cleaned and the standards of cleanliness expected. We also found that there were no audits of general cleanliness or infection control measures.
