During a routine inspection
We saw that policies and procedures were accessible to staff and emergency medical equipment was in place. Decontamination processes were followed and hygiene procedures adhered to, minimising the risk of cross infection.
We looked at a sample of electronic records, which contained medical information, treatment plans and personal preferences which were reviewed and updated.
We spoke with two members of staff who demonstrated an understanding of safeguarding processes and capacity issues. They were aware of the whistle blowing policy and confident of following the process.
We spoke with five patients who were all positive about their treatment at the practice. One patient described staff as 'Helpful, informative and friendly.' Another said the information given was 'verbally a very good, clear explanation.' Another patient said staff were 'Very calm and reassuring, lovely.'
We saw the complaints procedure and that patient feedback was sought by the practice. This was used to inform improvements made to the service. Audits were regularly undertaken and the results acted upon if necessary.
