During a routine inspection
We noted all staff were respectful and polite when assisting people visiting or phoning the practice. People spoken with told us they were always made welcome and put at ease by all the staff in the practice. One person spoken with told us, that they could become frustrated by having to wait thirty minutes for an appointment. Other people spoken with told us that they had not had to wait long for appointments.
We were able to see that good records were maintained of all visits by people to the service. Information included an assessment, a programme of treatment and care and the likely charges involved.
Staff were able to tell us about the safeguarding policies and procedures. Staff confirmed they had received training in this area and we were shown records confirming this. A member of staff told us they had followed their procedure after having concerns about a person's safety.
All areas of the dental practice were clean, tidy and organised. Staff were able to tell us about how they ensured all equipment was clean and we were shown records to support this information. We noted the decontamination room only had one sink for the cleaning of equipment which was not working towards best practice. The service had adequate systems in place to ensure the service provided was monitored on a regular basis.
