During a routine inspection
People undergoing treatment told us, they found the staff to be friendly and reported that they were treated with respect and their privacy was maintained at all times. People commented,' Coming here is like visiting a friend. '.the receptionist recognises my voice when I telephone. She is lovely and I always feel welcome. We are on first name terms, but not with Mr '. He has always been Mr'. ' .
We were also told the environment was clean and child friendly, 'My children love coming here, they have no worries and love getting a sticker after the examination' and 'I clean at the university and the first thing I do when I visit is look around and the place is spotless. I rum my finger along the dado rail and look it's clean'. We were told that people received treatment that suited their needs. One person said, 'I always get a letter telling me about my appointment. Mr'. explains my treatment each time and we always have a chat about it at the end'.
We found suitable arrangements were in place to protect people from abuse and the risk of abuse. Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work.
We also found an effective system in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety of people using the service and others.
