During a routine inspection
Records we looked at contained signed consent to treatment. In addition, we saw information about the various treatments and their costs both at the clinic and on the clinic's website. This clearly described the expected costs for the various treatments and also clarified that children under eighteen years of age who qualified for NHS treatment would receive their treatment free.
We saw that there were clear procedures for soaking, cleaning, sterilising and storage of instruments once they were sterilised. We observed that there was a clear process followed to ensure clean instruments were not contaminated by dirty ones.
We saw that staff were qualified to carry out their work and that appropriate recruitment checks and training had been provided. This included a comprehensive induction programme which covered all necessary procedures and policies as well as observed practice.
The practice actively sought feedback from patients through the process of consultation. In addition, questionnaires and feedback forms were offered to patients regularly as well as the invitation to send feedback via their website. We saw many examples of cards which contained positive feedback from patients.
