During a routine inspection
As part of our review, we talked with one person during our visit and five people on the telephone about the service they received. Everyone we spoke with told us they were happy with the service and would recommend the practice to family and friends. Some of these people also told us about the opinions of other people in their family and how their children were treated at the dental practice. These discussions were also positive. Four people told us they had used the service during their adulthood and would not consider going to any other service. Some people told us they had used the service for many years and said, 'We've always come here, and so have our children. They are very good with the children and we receive an excellent service.'
People told us they could always get an appointment in an emergency, and usually on the day they called. People said, 'They've always managed to get me an appointment, which is great because toothache is painful. They know how important it is to see us straight away.'
People said the staff were very gentle and considered their anxieties and how to reduce any stress. They said their examinations and treatment were thorough, and generally included regular checks of their teeth, gums and soft tissues areas. People told us the staff explained everything they were going to do during the treatment and ensured they understood.
People confirmed they could consider their treatment options and any costs involved. They said they did not have to make a decision immediately and were given a written treatment plan which they could consider. Treatment could be arranged at a convenient time, and people told us they did not experience any lengthy delays.
