During a routine inspection
Patients said the staff made sure they received sufficient information about their treatment options, so they were able to make informed decisions about what treatments were best for them. A patient told us they knew what treatment they were having and everything had been explained to them. Another patient told us the staff were reassuring and did their best to relieve any anxiety they had about their treatment.
We found the dental practice to be clean and tidy. Staff were working in accordance with infection control policies and procedures to prevent, detect and control the spread of infection.
Staff had access to training and support. This meant they had the skills, knowledge and expertise to provide care and treatment to patients safely. Staff interviewed told us they had access to a good training programme and that everyone worked well as a team.
Systems were in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided at the dental practice. We saw a number of audits (checks) which showed how this was achieved. Improvements had been made where necessary, to ensure patients received safe, effective treatment.
