During a routine inspection
We sat with two patients whilst they received their treatment. They told us that dentists were very thorough, explaining possible complications and options. The dentists and dental nurses were sympathetic and gentle to patients in pain.
Patients told us that all consultations were performed in the privacy of the dental surgery, where confidentiality was maintained.
The surgery was well maintained, clean and hygienic. Systems were in place to effectively clean, decontaminate and sterilise equipment.
The practice was accessible for patients with significant mobility disabilities.
Patients were given opportunities to express their opinion and provide feedback about the service they received.
Staff were recruited following appropriate pre employment checks. They were well qualified and had opportunities to keep their knowledge up to date. This included their continuous professional development requirements and mandatory training programme.
There were systems in place to identify, assess and manage any health and safety risks for patients who used the service.
