During an inspection in response to concerns
We looked at some patient records and saw that people were given information about their treatment and their consent for treatment was recorded.
We spoke with three dentists who told us how they explained information about treatment to patients so people could make informed decisions. There was clear information about prices of treatment available in the reception area and in the treatment rooms.
We looked around the surgery and found that treatment took place in a clean and hygienic environment. We saw the process for decontaminating and disinfecting equipment before it was used and we saw that there were regular internal and external audits to ensure that this happened.
We found that the practice ensured that pre-employment checks were carried out for new members of staff. Staff had regular access to core training which ensured that their skills and knowledge were maintained.
The practice had procedures to check that a good quality service which was delivered and could improve through feedback.
