During a routine inspection
People we spoke with told us they received appropriate care from the practice. One person's relative told us staff were "quite friendly and quite professional, if you have any queries they deal with it." We found people were given an initial assessment before they received treatment from the practice.
People we spoke with told us they felt safe at the practice and receiving treatment from staff. We found staff were trained to recognise the different forms and signs of abuse. We judged people to be safe from the risks of abuse within the practice. People we spoke with told us the practice was clean and hygienic.
We found staff were given adequate support. There was evidence supervisions and appraisals were undertaken. However we found the practice manager had not received appropriate supervision. There was no documentary evidence beyond 2008 to substantiate they had effective supervision or appraisals. We were told these had taken place but were not documented.
Records were kept securely and could be located promptly when needed. However we found one drawer was not locked. We were told by the practice manager and the provider this would be addressed as soon as possible.
