During a routine inspection
People who used the service said they were fully involved in decisions about their care, and the dentists were very good at explaining any treatment. People told us the dentist gave them information about the treatment options and the costs were explained. They told us they felt comfortable to ask questions about the treatments available and their consent was sought prior to any treatment being given.
One person we spoke with said: 'I always ask a lot of questions and the dentist explains my options very well so that I understand my choices'.
We saw there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. People we spoke with said everything always looked clean and they were satisfied with the standards of cleanliness.
The staff worked together as a team and said that they felt they were supported by the dentists and accessed training to ensure their skills and knowledge were up to date.
We found the service had a robust complaints system in place. People told us they had never had cause to make a complaint but if they did, they would feel confident that their views would be listened to and addressed by the practice.
