During a routine inspection
The practice provided a service to approximately 1,200 people. The practice had one treatment room. This was situated on the first floor up a flight of stairs. Staff told us that people with limited mobility could be referred to the nearby Chagford dental practice.
We spoke with five people during our visit who were attending for treatment. All of them told us that they were very satisfied with the service. One person told us 'It couldn't be better here'.
People told us that their views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care.
We looked at the results of a recent survey conducted by the practice. These results showed high levels of satisfaction with the service.
We saw that staff had received recent training in appropriate areas including safeguarding. Staff we spoke with had a good understanding of their safeguarding responsibilities. People told us that they felt safe and secure there.
The practice met mandatory standards on infection control set down by the Department of Health. We saw that a robust audit system was in place and that records were stored securely.
