Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 19 August 2024. We found the practice had met all regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks and recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. The dental clinic appeared clean and infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Glow Dentistry Hampstead is in Hampstead, in the London Borough of Camden and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice through the use of a portable ramp. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, 2 associate dentists, 2 dental nurses, 2 receptionists and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our onsite assessment, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 7 patients. On the day of our assessment, we collected patient feedback from a further 4 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “Excellent service and excellent people” and “The care and kindness shown to me by the whole team has been unique.” Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. One patient said, “Clean place, courteous and professional staff.” Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. One patient told us, “When friends ask me if I know a good dentist, I always recommend Glow Dentistry.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Patients were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
