During a routine inspection
We saw plenty of information about the dental surgery in the reception area. Patients had the information they needed about the dental surgery and the treatments available.
We looked at two dental treatment plans and this showed people had been asked to give their consent to the treatment. The treatment plans also showed the treatment options people had been offered. People therefore understood the treatment choices available to them and they were involved in making decisions about their treatment.
We found effective checks of equipment and monitoring arrangements for infection control. This meant patients received care and treatment in a clean, hygienic and safe environment.
Staff received training and appraisals to ensure they had the skills and knowledge to work safely and to promote their professional development.
We found there were systems in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the service to ensure people received safe, effective care, support and treatment.
