During a routine inspection
We asked four patients who attended that day for their opinions. They had been attenders from between two and fifteen years. They all said they were treated with courtesy and respect at all times. It was easy to make an appointment with them and they were not kept waiting a long time. They felt that the reception staff were welcoming and tried to accommodate them as best they could with appointment times.
They also said that they were treated well in the surgery, had everything explained to them well and felt comfortable to ask questions should they not be clear on any planned treatment. They were aware of the costs both verbally and later with a printout. One patient told us the dentists had a "very caring approach" and another that "they explained the treatment well". Another said "they always had their treatment explained in simple terms".
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection, appropriate polices and procedures were followed.
Staff were properly supported and trained to deliver care and treatment to an appropriate standard.
We found that appropriate and accurate records were maintained
