During a routine inspection
All of the patients we spoke with were happy with the care they received. Medical emergencies were planned for and treatment was conducted safely.
None of the patients we spoke with had any concerns regarding the service. Although staff had not been trained regarding their requirements under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the provider had procedures in place in the event of a safeguarding incident.
All the patients we spoke with told us, and we observed that the service operated in a clean and tidy premises. Although the provider had procedures in place to prevent the risk of infection, these were sometimes either not sufficient or not evidenced that they were followed.
Although the provider had not kept the recruitment records for its current staff, appropriate procedures were in place for future staff recruitment. Current staff were up to date with their relevant professional registrations and checks.
The provider monitored the quality of the service using feedback from both staff and patients and, conducted relevant audits.
