During a routine inspection
We found that people were fully informed about treatment options, any costs and restrictions due to the layout of the building.
People were satisfied with the care and treatment they received. Their medical history was regularly updated and any emergency treatment required was provided quickly, or the person referred on to an emergency dentist. Records were clear and complete and detailed people's choices and consent to tests or treatment. Equipment was in place should an emergency occur and staff knew how to use it.
There were arrangements to manage any concerns which might indicate that a person was being abused or neglected, such as unmanaged dental treatment which would cause a child pain. Staff were receiving regular training and support.
The practice was very clean. However, the practice was not following every aspect of the Department of Health guidelines on decontamination of instruments, thus increasing risk from those instruments. They made some changes before the inspection was completed.
