During a routine inspection
The patients we spoke with were happy with the treatment they received. They told us that they found the premises clean and tidy.
Staff at the service were knowledgeable and trained to report if they felt a person required safeguarding from abuse. Although there was no record of a formal appraisal of the performance and training needs of each staff member, staff told us they were trained and their performance was informally monitored to ensure they could provide safe patient care.
All the patients we spoke with found the premises of the service clean and tidy. Although there was no record of when the premises was cleaned, the service had other policies, procedures and checks that met cleaning and infection control guidance .
The service had in place appropriate processes and procedures to provide safe treatment. However some medicines in the emergency drugs kit were out of date which meant there was a risk they would be ineffective. The lead dentist ordered replacements for the out of date medicines that day.
The provider had appropriate checks and audits to ensure it provided safe treatment.
