All Inspections
9 July 2013
During a routine inspection
There was personal protective equipment to protect people from the risk of infection. There were effective measures in place to sterilise dental equipment that was used. The equipment used in the surgery was serviced and maintained in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
Treatment was not planned in a way that always ensured patients safety and welfare. The staff had not received recent training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and regular checks were not carried out on the emergency drugs kit or first aid kit.
Patients were not always safeguarded from the risks of abuse because staff had not received training in adult safeguarding and there was no adult safeguarding policy or procedure for raising safeguarding concerns.
Patients told us that the staff were, "helpful, courteous, polite and friendly", and "They treat you with respect at all times".
