During a routine inspection
Patients understood the care and treatment choices available to them. We observed three people during their consultation or treatment and observed the dentist explain the treatment and options available to each patient. One person told us, "the dentist always explains what I need doing and I make the decision about what I have done."
Patients we spoke with told us they were usually seen the same day if they had a problem with their teeth. They all told us they did not have to wait long for their treatment on arrival at the practice and we observed this to be true during our inspection. We overheard staff speaking with patients and found them to be friendly and courteous at all times. They all told us the staff made them feel comfortable. We saw the dentist checked in each case to make sure there were no changes to the person's medical history before they started treatment.
We inspected the premises and found all areas to be clean and hygienic. We also spoke with three patients who all told us they thought the practice was clean and tidy when they visited. One person said, "It is always clean here, I have never seen it any other way."
The patients we spoke with all spoke positively about the staff and about how welcoming they were. One person we spoke with told us, "they all seem to know what they are doing. They are always professional."
We saw there were satisfaction surveys in the waiting area for patients to complete if they wished to give their views on the service they had received. There was a locked box next to these forms for completed surveys. We also saw patients had left comments on the provider's facebook page and staff told us they were encouraged to do this.
