During a routine inspection
There were robust policies and procedures for the protection of vulnerable adults and children. Staff had received safeguarding training. The systems used helped protect patients from possible harm.
We saw evidence that people signed their consent to treatment prior to any work being undertaken. Patients we spoke with told us that the dentist explained any procedures and answered any questions they had. People were aware of and agreed to any dental work they required.
Two qualified dental nurses we spoke with said they were well trained and supervised in dental care. This meant they felt competent to perform their roles.
Their were policies and procedures for the control of infection. All three patients we spoke with said the practice was always clean and tidy. Staff were trained in infection control and the decontamination and sterilisation of equipment. The good systems used helped protect the health and welfare of patients and staff.
