During a routine inspection
During our inspection we spent some of our time observing how reception staff interacted with people. We saw they were polite towards people who came into the practice and towards people on the telephone. They asked people to consent to their dental check up by asking them to complete the NHS consent form. We also observed them explaining a treatment plan to a person and answering their questions.
We looked at nine dental care records of people who received care at this practice. We saw from the records that people's oral health needs were assessed and treatment options were discussed.
We looked around the practice and saw it was clean. The practice manager explained to us the process for cleaning and decontaminating dental instruments and we were happy the procedures compiled with the government guidelines.
