During a routine inspection
People's dental needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with those individual needs. One person told us, 'They tell me what they recommend. They explain what the consequences would be and I can choose to leave it or proceed. I am completely involved and get the chance to ask lots of questions. I am a nervous patient and they put me at ease.'
Staff were trained in resuscitation techniques and emergency equipment was properly maintained.
People were treated in a clean, hygienic environment. One person said, 'It is impeccably clean, I wouldn't come here otherwise. The chairs and equipment are always spotless.' Department of Health instructions on control of infection were followed.
Staff received appropriate professional development relevant to their role. Professionally qualified staff undertook continuing development that maintained their professional registration.
The provider took proper steps to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and others by means of appropriate audits.
