During a routine inspection
The patients we spoke with told us their privacy and wishes were respected. All patients we spoke with stated they received good dental treatment from the dentist. One patient told us, 'The dentist is very good and explains everything in detail'. Another patient told us, 'I have had two implants and the care was first class, I cannot fault anything'.
The practice was following appropriate guidance in relation to infection control. A member of staff we spoke with told us, 'We follow the process for decontamination as per the Department of Health and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence guidelines and make sure all is spot on'. A patient told us, "The practice is always very clean, quite spotless actually, very welcoming".
We found the practice referred patients to specialists and dental hospitals promptly and appropriately when needed. We saw evidence of effective cooperation and communication between The Surgery North Chailey and other providers.
The practice had systems in place to assess and monitor the service and effectively deal with complaints when necessary.
