During a routine inspection
We found patients who used the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their care or treatment. We spoke with four patients in the waiting area within the practice. Everybody we spoke with talked positively about the care and treatment they had received at the practice. This included being given sufficient information to be able to make an informed decision about any treatment required. Comments included 'It's really good treatment (here)', 'It (my treatment) was excellent, fine' and 'They (the practice and staff employed there) are good.' One patient told us 'I used to be nervous. Basically it's the attitude of the staff (that helped me to overcome this).' Nobody expressed any concerns about the treatment provided.
Patient's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their needs. If patient's required treatment, we saw they were provided with a treatment plan which included a breakdown of costs.
Staff were aware of their roles and responsibilities with regards to protecting patient's from abuse or the risk of abuse.
We found the provider ensured patients were treated in a safe, clean environment. One patient said 'As far as I know about hygiene, it's clean' and another patient said they felt the practice was 'Very clean.' During our inspection we observed the practice, including the clinical areas, were clean and tidy.
We saw information about the provider's complaints procedure was on display within the practice waiting area. All of the people we spoke with confirmed they knew how to make a complaint if necessary and would raise this with staff working at the practice. Nobody said they had felt the need to complain about anything during the time they had been visiting the practice.
