During a routine inspection
People we spoke with said they were 'very' satisfied with the service they had received and had recommended the dental practice to their family and friends. People told us they were seen on time. They said their treatment options were always fully discussed with them and their check-ups were thorough. One person stated, 'It's the best dentist practice I've ever encountered, they are fantastic. I feel privileged to be a patient there'.
People told us they had completed an oral health questionnaire and were regularly asked about any changes to their health before receiving treatment. One person said they had previously left as they had difficulty climbing the stairs to the practice, which is located on the first floor. However, they soon returned because they were unable to find a better dentist. They stated, I'm pleased as punch and I wouldn't change him for the world. He is so gentle when he does my teeth, I'm very very happy with him'.
People we spoke with expressed no concerns in relation to the infection prevention and control. One person told us, 'It's always spotlessly clean; I've never seen such a clean dental practice'. People confirmed that clinical staff always wore personal protective clothing such as gloves and eye protection when carrying out treatment.
We received information from Shropshire PCT who visited the practice on 28 July 2011 to undertake an infection prevention and control audit. They told us the practice received and overall score of 100%. They told us the practice was compliant with good practice, had excellent infection control policies and procedures in place and excellent documentation.
