During a routine inspection
The survey results alsoshowed that very few people had ever complained about their treatment and most people did not know who dealt with complaints. In response to this the practice displayed the complaints procedure prominently in the waiting area.
There were four dentists working at the practice with varying special interests. These included orthodontics, endodontics and periodontology.
Treatments available for people who attended the practice included examinations, fillings and root treatments. In addition there were cosmetic procedures including crowns, bridges, whitening and advice on dental implants.
Staff had received training and signed a document to indicate that they had read and understood the safeguarding policies.
We saw the infection control policy displayed along with the procedure for decontamination. Staff wore protective equipment and waste was disposed of appropriately.
The dentists told us they received occasional complaints about waiting times but that most people understood that sometimes treatment could take longer than expected.
