During a routine inspection
We observed staff dealing with patients and noted that they were helpful and polite.
The eight patients we spoke with were very positive about the dental practice and the services offered. Comments included; 'brilliant dentist, the girls [reception and dental nurse] are great', 'very friendly staff, the dentist is good', 'wonderful, the dentist is very calm and always explains things to me', 'staff are very friendly' and 'best dentist I have ever been with.'
Since our visit we have had written confirmation that safeguarding vulnerable adults training would be provided as soon as possible and the Care Quality Commission would be notified when it had been completed.
We looked around the dental practice and found that everywhere appeared clean. The work top surfaces were free from clutter and items were stored in appropriate places.
We looked at the training records being kept and could see that mandatory training updates such as basic life support and infection control as well as other training relevant to their roles had been provided.
A survey of patient's views to gain people's perception of the staff and services provided was carried out on an on-going basis. This was done by leaving patient survey forms in the reception area.
