During a routine inspection
Comments included:
'I am a very nervous patient at the best of times and dreaded having to attend a dentist. The dentist was marvellous, explained everything about the treatment I may need and what it would cost. I was kept informed throughout about any changes to treatment and was given time to consider before I signed my consent'.
Wherever in the report you read 'practice manager', this denotes the dental surgeon (dentist).
We found that good, detailed records were kept of people's treatment and that the computerised system had a mechanism to alert clinical staff to important medical details that helped to make sure people were not placed at unnecessary risk of harm.
