During a routine inspection
We found that people were provided with information about the services they could expect and their treatment options. One person told us, "I've seen the information they have and there are always notices on display".
We saw that dental records showed the required checks of people's medical histories and oral health were completed and people had consented and agreed to their treatment plan.
We found that the decontamination and cleaning of instruments used for dental treatment was appropriate to reduce the risk of cross infection.
Dental nurses employed at the practice told us they were provided with opportunities for continued professional development to ensure they had the skills to undertake their role. Regular staff meetings and appraisal of staff was carried out. Staff we spoke with said they were well supported by the provider.
Appropriate arrangements were in place for monitoring the quality of the service provided. The practice's complaints procedure was displayed in the waiting room and told people how to share their concerns.
