During a routine inspection

We spoke privately with four patients who were attending the practice for check ups or treatment. Patients told us that the dentist explained all the procedures and treatments to them and respected their decisions about their treatment and care. Their comments included: 'They explained all the different treatment options.' 'I came for a check up and they (dentist) gave me all the different options and the costs.'

All the patients spoken with told us that they were very satisfied with all aspects of the practice and spoke highly about the staff. Their comments included: 'It's the best treatment I have had.' 'The treatment you cannot fault it.' 'Really good, really impressed.' 'All the treatment I have had has been excellent.' 'I would recommend the service.'

Patients spoken with said that the service was clean, tidy and hygienic. We found that patients received care and treatment in a clean environment with infection control measures in place to minimise the risk of infection.

The service had a satisfactory recruitment and selection procedure in place to ensure that staff were appropriately employed. Staff were provided with relevant training to maintain and update their skills and knowledge.

The provider had an appropriate system in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the quality and safety of care the service provides. Patients who used the service were asked for their views about their care and treatment.
