During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people using the service during our visit. They both told us they had received a copy of their treatment plan. One person said "the dentist takes their time when explaining". We looked at five treatment plans and saw that people had signed and dated the form indicating their consent to treatment.

During our inspection we found the practice was visibly clean and well maintained. A dental nurse demonstrated the process for the decontamination of instruments.

Staff told us they were "happy" working at Augustus Road Dental Practice and felt they were "well supported". Regular staff appraisals were held every six months.

There was a suggestions box in the reception area and the practice provided people with surveys. We saw a sample of the responses that had been completed in the past year. The comments were generally positive. We looked at a sample of complaints; the provider kept an accurate record of the complaint details, the action taken, any follow up plan and the final outcome of each complaint.
