During an assessment under our new approach
People, relatives and staff felt able to raise concerns if they needed to, however, some people and staff did not always feel listened to. People’s consent was requested before care was provided, where people lacked capacity the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act were followed and were required additional support had been provided.
People were supported by staff who knew them well. We observed positive interactions between staff and people who lived in the home.
Systems checks of the quality of the service were used and a detailed action plan was created to drive improvements.
