During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection there were people waiting to be seen by the dentist or hygienist, but they had not visited the practice before, so were unable to comment on the care given. We asked one person question's about how they had chosen to visit this particular practice. We were told "I needed an emergency appointment, and I could be seen here right away." This person was able to show us the medical history questionnaire and consent to examination and treatment form he had been asked to complete and sign. We asked this person if they had been made aware of the cost of examination, and how and when payment could be made. They confirmed that prices for initial examination had been given to them over the phone, and on arrival, a more comprehensive price list was available in the reception area.

At the time of our inspection the reception area, treatment rooms and waiting area were all clean, tidy and well appointed. There was access to literature on dental procedures available, as well as educational posters on dental health and hygiene. When people arrived for their appointment we observed them being greeted by staff, and being advised which dentist would be seeing them for their appointment.
