During a routine inspection
People were asked about their views and experiences, some of the comments people made included "I travel 25 miles to come here and that's because I feel comfortable and confident with and in the dentist" and "they are very flexible with the appointments'.
We saw that peoples' needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. We reviewed the treatment records for five people and saw that treatment plans and options had been explained and recorded. This showed that people were involved in decision making around their care.
We saw there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. This meant that the practice ensured peoples safety in relation to infection control matters.
Staff told us that they were supported by the registered manager. They told us that they were given the opportunity to attend staff meetings. Staff told us that the registered manager would listen to any issues they wanted to discuss. We saw from the records we viewed that staff were receiving appraisals, on-going training.
We found that people were asked for their views about their care and treatment. This enabled the practice to obtain feedback about their experience of the people who used the service.
