During a routine inspection
Patients we spoke with who use the surgery discussed how they were treated and the care and support they received. They told us the dentists were clear and precise about discussing all their treatment options and given time to make informed decisions. Comments included, "They were very good from the start of my treatment. The dentist went through all my options." Also, "What I thought was good the dentist discussed everything all the way through the stages of treatment."
Patients spoke highly of staff and how they were treated with respect and politeness when visiting the surgery." One patient said, "The receptionists and nurses were excellent. They were very polite and always willing to listen and help relieve the anxiousness." A member of staff spoken with about respect and dignity said, "We have an ongoing instruction and training around issues of respect and how to communicate with people. This is important in a dentist surgery because people are generally nervous."
People we spoke with all said they felt the premises and individual surgeries were kept clean and hygienic. One patient said, "This place is spotlessly clean in the reception and waiting room, as well as the surgery."
None of the people we spoke with had any issues about the standard of care they were receiving and people told us that they would be comfortable in raising any concerns they may have.
