During a routine inspection
Prior to, during and after the inspection we spoke to some people who used the service. People we spoke with told us they were happy with the service and the treatment they received. One person told us, "The dentist has been brilliant, I was very nervous, but he put me at ease".
We saw that people were provided with care and treatment that met their needs, options were discussed and people told us that they were enabled to make informed decisions about the treatment recommended.
Infection control procedures were effective and ensured that people were protected from the risk of cross infection.
Staff recruitment and induction procedures ensured that people who used the service received care and treatment from staff who were properly vetted and suitable to work at the practice.
Arrangements were in place for the supervision and appraisal of staff, meetings were arranged regularly and training opportunities were available. This helped to ensure that their qualifications, skills and experience were appropriate.
The service was well run. There were effective management arrangements in place and audits of the quality of service were undertaken regularly to ensure that satisfactory standards were maintained.
