During a routine inspection
We also spoke with six patients who used the practice to gather information about their experiences of the service they received. We were told, 'It is a very good service' and 'They are all very good.'
We saw that information about treatment and oral health was available in the reception area. We were told that videos were shown to patients in treatment rooms to explain some of the processes that formed their treatment. We saw that television screens were present in each treatment room for this purpose.
We looked at records relating to patient care and treatment, recruitment and selection and staff training. We found that there were systems in place to make sure records were stored securely to protect patients' confidential information.
We saw that suitable arrangements for the control of infection and the decontamination of equipment and instruments were in place. Staff were able to show us the decontamination process and describe how the equipment was monitored to ensure it was working efficiently.
We reviewed the procedures for responding to medical emergencies which included the management of medication and maintenance of resuscitation equipment.
We found that information about fees, care and treatment and complaints had been made available to patients.
