During a routine inspection
People felt involved in their care and treatment. Recent comment cards showed that people were felt involved in their treatment planning. They were given copies of written treatment plans, which they signed. Satisfaction surveys and comments from people using the service showed that people were happy with the quality of care and treatment they received.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and the environment appeared clean and hygienic on the day of the inspection. There were infection control policies and procedures, which staff were trained in and followed.
Staff received appropriate professional development and had undertaken mandatory training which included basic life support, infection control and other courses to improve their skills. The dental professionals undertook continuing professional development and external appraisals.
People were given information about how to complain if they needed to and there was an effective complaints procedure in place.
