Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 29 August 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks, recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and they were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. The practice is in Birmingham and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 7 clinicians (3 periodontists, 1 endodontist, 1 prosthodontist, 1 restorative consultant and 1 Implant dentist), 3 dental nurses, 4 trainee dental nurses, 5 dental hygienists, 1 practice manager, 1 administrator, 1 cleaner and 3 receptionists. The practice had 8 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 2 trainee dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist and 1 receptionist.
People's experience of this service
During our assessment, we saw patient feedback from 6 patients. The practice also shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
