During a routine inspection
Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. We spoke with three people. They were all positive about how their needs had been assessed, treatment planned and care delivered. One person remarked, 'the efficiency here is fantastic.'
Staff we spoke with demonstrated an understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. They had received safeguarding training and were able to describe possible symptoms of abuse such as physical marks or dental neglect. The provider also showed us a form used to notify health visitors when a child under five had missed a dental appointment.
We saw that the reception area, decontamination room and treatment rooms were clean and clutter free. People we spoke with were very positive about the cleanliness of the surgery with one person remarking that they had 'never experienced anything other than perfect.'
The provider told us that prior to despatching an email containing patient information (for example to a patient's consultant) encryption software was used. This meant that the provider ensured that records were securely transferred externally to other organisations.
