During our inspection we spoke with five people who used the service, five staff, two dentists and the practice manager. People we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the information they received. All the staff we spoke with told us that people were always given a treatment plan which they had explained to them and signed it when they agreed to their proposed treatment. A person who used the service confirmed this and added, 'My options are explained and I choose'.
We observed that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was
intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. One person said; "I am treated perfectly well'.
There were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies.
Effective infection control systems were maintained to reduce the risk and spread of infection. However, regular checks of these controls were not completed by the infection control lead.
There was enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. A member of staff told us, 'If we require cover we can call on staff from our other practices to help. It is useful that nurses know how to work in reception also'.
The provider had an effective system to assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive. People's feedback indicated satisfaction with the service. Comments included; "Excellent Service" and another was 'Very friendly and welcoming'.
