During a routine inspection
We met with the practice manager, the deputy manager, two dentists and dental nurses. We spoke with one of the receptionists who was undertaking their dental nurse qualification. This meant they could assist the dentists if and when required.
People said and we saw records which demonstrated people were well informed of the options available to them. One person said they had been fully informed throughout their treatment. They added they had been given a treatment plan, which detailed the proposed treatment and the cost.
People said they could make appointments easily and they were welcomed warmly by all of the staff.
The practice had appropriate drugs and equipment available in the event of a medical emergency. Staff received annual training on emergency procedures
Staff were aware of the policies and where they could access information if they were concerned about someone's safety.
People told us they were very happy with the standard of cleanliness at the practice. One person commented, 'I have no issues with cleanliness here.'
We saw staff were recruited and selected appropriately. All required checks were completed to ensure their suitability.
